Nornickel CEO Vladimir Potanin, a great hockey fan, has been initiating charity matches with sports legends since 2017. This year, after the sixth game ended, he announced that a professional hockey club would be created in Norilsk.
The Norilsk HC is fully staffed and admitted to the All-Russian Hockey League. By 2026, a new arena will be built for it with a 2,500 seat capacity.
