Nornickel is the first company in Russia to release a responsible supply chain report

The supply chain verification system allows Nornickel to monitor the conformity of mineral raw material suppliers to the company’s corporate requirements, and applicable international standards and initiatives.

The Responsible Supply Chain Report released in 2023 contains information about the supplier management system and supplier verification results in 2021–2022. This is the first report of this type issued by Nornickel, and the first responsible supply chain report released by a major Russian company. The report is based on internal reporting by the company’s production businesses and headquarters.

The first report contains supply chain information relating to Nornickel’s Norilsk, Kola, and Trans-Baikal divisions. The company is currently expanding its verification system to cover suppliers of goods, works, and services. An ESG-focused supplier survey involving production businesses and companies expected to complete self-assessment is underway.

The Responsible Supply Chain Report is an integral part of Nornickel’s reporting on its sustainability achievements, challenges, and initiatives. With its commitment to transparent communication, the company shares information about its ESG efforts in public reports, as well as on its corporate website and through social media.

By releasing its ESG reports, Nornickel confirms its commitment to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact. The company considers these principles important for doing business, regardless of external factors and geopolitical challenges.
