Nornickel: Safety Excellence in the Workplace

The company has passed a HSE management system audit and renewed its compliance Certificate.
Specialist inspection and certification auditors, Bureau Veritas, assessed Nornickel’s HSE management system with strong praise while declaring the system fully complies with ISO 45001:2018 requirements. That standard mandates management practices and solutions to eliminate or minimize the risk of workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

The outcome came after auditors inspected production sites of the Polar Branch, Murmansk and Polar Transport Branches, as well as Nornickel headquarters.

Among Nornickel’s strengths, the auditors noted its HSE Strategy Until 2025, which the company has been successfully implementing, reducing the number of fatal accidents by more than seventy percent since 2019. Nornickel applies a risk-based approach and appropriate tools, implements information technologies, builds strong contractor relationships, and constantly improves its HSE systems.
