Progress of Norilsk Integrated Development Plan

Significant results have been achieved under the Norilsk Integrated Socioeconomic Development Plan adopted by Government Resolution and a unique quadripartite agreement between Nornickel, City Administration, Krasnoyarsk Territory Government, and the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.

More than RUB 17.5 bn have already been spent in the program with a total budget of RUB 120 bn, including RUB 81.3 bn of investment from Nornickel. This money was used to build, and hand over to the city, two modern six-floor apartment blocks, fully renovate a kindergarten in Kayerkan, and take down three dilapidated buildings. The company is particularly committed to long-term safety: extensive thermal stabilization of soil in the foundation of residential blocks and social facilities has been carried out.

One of the key achievements is early completion of the resettlement program: 1,090 families have already moved into new homes in regions with better climate. Further milestones include the opening of the renovated Bashnya (Tower) social and cultural center and the launch of other municipal infrastructure improvement and upgrade projects.

A delegation led by Deputy Chairman of Russia's Federation Council Nikolai Zhuravlev reviewed the progress of these large-scale transformations. Participants donated 12 new buses running on natural gas to the city and handed over apartment keys to their new owners.
