Taimyr's fishers and hunters received new mobile homes

Nornickel purchased 30 cabins of 18 square meters each for traditional activities of the Indigenous Minorities.

The houses, also called “Balki”, are covered with siding and have only one window to conserve heat. To make transporting easy, each structure is mounted on skids and has a driving gear and metal rails for carrying cargo. The cabins have a cast iron stove with a chimney, folding lavatory, luminaire, and electrical outlets.

“RUB 26 million has been allocated by the company in 2024 so that communities can carry out their traditional activities comfortably. This year, the communities decided that all cabins would be reserved for communities involved in fishing and hunting in the Pyasino Region, near the Settlements of Ust-Avam and Volochanka.”
