Norilsk Nickel's plans and achievements in the development of the Arctic at the SPIEF

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, investments in Nornickel’s key ESG projects were assessed.

The company has allocated RUB 81.3 bn for the renovation of Norilsk, which is not only about building new housing, but also an upgrade of the entire infrastructure, including socialinfrastructure.

Another important project that Nornickel is implementing in the Arctic is the Clean Norilsk program, which is supported with RUB 40 bn of investments.

"As part of the Sulfur Program, we have already opened a whole plant that does not produce anything. It captures sulfur and turns it into gypsum. Our goal is to ensure that up to 90% of emissions in the city of Norilsk are captured and converted into inert substances."
