Invigorating Pulse of Arctic Fest
The opening of the science and innovation festival Arctic Fest 2026 at Norilsk’s Aika Sports Complex set the stands alight. Young audiences were enthralled by the special effects of a spectacular engineering show and the high-energy, intergenerational intellectual-entertainment battle "Era vs. Era." True to Arctic Fest’s tradition (formerly Arctic Wave), the festival extended to other Nornickel sites; this year activities also took place in Dudinka, Chita, and Monchegorsk.
The program offered hundreds of events, including dynamic lectures on emerging technologies, financial literacy, and the psychology of intergenerational relationships, regional finals of young inventors’ competitions, interactive zones, and hands-on workshops. Since its launch in 2015, the festival has grown into a major occasion that inspires schoolchildren and students to pursue engineering, invention, and science.
