“The Red Machine” sets camp in Norilsk
Norilsk hosted a training camp of the National Hockey Player Development Program “The Red Machine” sponsored by Nornickel and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. Hockey players aged 9 to 15 participated in three days of theoretical and practical training sessions led by the Federation’s staff.
Young hockey players were divided into three age groups. The junior group discovered the basics of ice hockey during the lecture “Games in Limited Spaces”. The middle group learned about off-season training, while the senior group focused on the philosophy of the national hockey development program. Practical training placed emphasis on skating skills and puck handling.
At the end of the training camp, all participants took part in a 5x5 hockey festival, splitting into two teams for each age group.
