Nornickel Curling Cup 2024, an international curling tournament for women's teams, was held in Dudinka on April 25-28, 2024. Tents covered with reindeer skins stood beside the Taimyr Ice Arena.
This is not surprising. More than 20,000 people live in the city, and many of them are representatives or descendants of the indigenous peoples of the North. They arranged a town of tents, participated in the opening ceremony, and held master classes in the ethnic cuisine.
The Russian Curling Federation has authorized Nornickel to organize international competitions for the eighth time. This year, eight teams came to Dudinka, among the participants were Russian national teams, athletes from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
