70 reindeer sleds took part in races in Dudinka
The races were the most spectacular event at the Reindeer Herder's Day celebration in Dudinka on 5 April. Three races were held: among men, women and youths.
National sports competitions included cord throwing, jumping over sleds and rod pulling. A national wrestling tournament of Taimyr bogatyrs was held. A big fire of friendship was lit followed by a fashion show, concert and disco.
In 2025, the holiday was dedicated to the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 95th anniversary of the Taimyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky Municipal District. Reindeer Breeder's Day has been celebrated in Taymyr for 66 years already.
