There are sports, tourism, various festivals and communication venues that keep residents from moving away. In addition, sports activities improve their health. Therefore, if such initiatives have a systematic and multi-year character, they become important elements in the process of sustainable urban development.
The Night League brings together thousands of hockey fans from different regions and is the largest amateur sports project, both in the country and in the world. The League contributes to sports infrastructure development: new ice arenas are built every year in the cities where the winners of the All-Russian Festival of Night Hockey League teams play.
As a general partner, Nornickel participates in all large-scale league projects aimed at developing and promoting amateur hockey. For example, every year, charity hockey matches with the participation of world-class stars are held in Norilsk with the support of the company. The proceeds from these events are doubled by Nornickel and allocated to the development of children's sports schools.
In the 2023 season,
the company's Norilsk team made its debut in the professional All-Russian League.
